This is one of the new drinks in Monster’s Rehab line and the flavour is Rojo Tea. It is good to see them add some more flavours to this line. The Rehab line is a non-carbonated line Monster energy drinks. This has quite the blend of ingredients, it has Milk Thistle, Quercetin, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, L-Carnitine, Acai & Goji Berry extract. Plus some Ginseng and Taurine. Of course, it has caffeine as well, 170mg of it. I will give you one spoiler before you continue reading, this drink is very sweet.
I was more awake but not as awake as others can make me. I was not jittery nor did I have any sort of crash at the end. After all, there is no sugar so I wouldn’t really expect there to be a crash. The effects are not bad, it gets an average to slightly above average score in this section.
This drink is probably the weakest smelling energy drink I have had. The smell is of very weak tea and a seems to have a slight sweetness to it. The taste, unlike any other as well and unlike the smell as well; just not necessarily in a good way. The smell was slightly sweet, the taste is very, very sweet. Overly sweet, it is sweetened with both sucralose and acesulfame potassium. It is my main complaint about it as the sweetness continues throughout the whole drink. Any flavour in this is overpowered by how sweet it is. The aftertaste is when you will notice cranberry flavouring but still very sweet. It is a little odd and it is not refreshing like I had hoped a tea-like cold drink would be as personally, I wanted some water after this. But it is not bad overall and if you like drinks very sweet, this will be one of your favourites.
I feel as though many people will love the taste of this and many others will hate it. The effects are also somewhere in the middle as well, although I would like to say again that there was no crash after the energy wore off nor any jitters during the energy high. Overall, Monster Rehab (Rojo Tea) is a slightly above average energy drink; certainly worth a try.
